It’s Time Up

The Bible says in Matthew 28:18-20, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” Amen.

It’s time for ministers of the gospel to rise up and harness the power of media tools to spread the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Media ministry isn’t just for media ministers; it’s for every minister of the gospel – whether you’re an usher, worshipper, children’s church teacher, evangelist, pastor, administrator, prophet, or apostle.

In today’s digital age, most people have their smartphones with them 24/7. Yet, many aren’t creating content or engaging with their church’s online presence. Imagine a church Instagram post with only 2 likes and 0 comments, despite having over 500 members with smartphones and social media accounts. What’s the challenge? Are people viewing content elsewhere and giving less attention to their church’s content?

Personally, I believe that if a church has 300 members with smartphones, at least 70% should be engaging with online content. This means a church post or YouTube video should have 300+ likes, 300+ views, and 300+ comments. Why isn’t this the case?

The reason is that many believers still think the media space isn’t for the gospel, are ashamed to associate with Christian content, or believe social media is evil. But we have a mandate to preach the gospel and amplify its spread through available media tools.

It’s time to renew our minds and recognize that social media is part of our world, and we ought to preach the gospel there. Your social media profile and platforms should be avenues for preaching the gospel. Your statuses or stories should be altars where thousands are drawn to Christ and where people are exhorted, edified, and encouraged.

Each one of us can do something because each one of us is an ambassador of Christ on our different platforms and also ambassadors of our various churches. It’s time up for you and me to get busy circulating and spreading the gospel on every platform, even as we wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
